Job summary

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• 8+ years of construction experience across project facets including safety, preconstruction, staff development, and deliverables.
• 5+ years as a Project Executive managing large Heavy Civil or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices and trades.
• Proficient in Procore and MS Office tools; able to work independently.

• Maintain the project schedule by directing contractors and ensuring logical work sequence.
• Develop and renew client relationships with Business Development.
• Ensure quality control meets company standards.
• Keep projects on schedule and within budget to maximize profitability.
• Recruit, train, and mentor construction personnel.
• Serve as the field issues point person for materials and vendor concerns.
• Coordinate schedule management with superintendents throughout the project.
• Review materials, documentation, and performance conformity to plans.
• Contribute to proposal development and bid documentation.
• Ensure contractors use current plans revision in the field.

Job description

The Civi Group has partnered with a highly successful Heavy Civil General Contractor in Connecticut on their search for a Project Executive with experience in the civil sector to work on large-scale Civil Construction Projects in Fairfield County.

The Project Executive is the senior manager of a construction project team and leads the completion of construction projects from initial bid through completion. The Project Executives primary responsibilities are customer relationships, exceeding customer expectations, managing project teams, and developing team members.

Job Title: Project Executive (8+ years)

Compensation:

• Salary: Up to approximately $230K based on experience
• Benefits: Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and the opportunity for performance-based bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the Project Schedule by directing the work of contractors so as to achieve the prescribed logical sequence of Work, maintain the scheduled duration of the components of the Work, resolve conflicts as they may arise, and obtain responses from the Project Engineer to requests for information from the field.
• Work with Business Development to develop new or renewed client relationships.
• Ensure that quality control meets Company standards.
• Ensure that each assigned project is run efficiently to maximize profitability, remains on schedule, and within budget.
• Recruit, train, coach, mentor and oversee supervision of qualified construction personnel.
• Be the point person for all field issues pertaining to projects including material quantity issues, and other vendor issues.
• Oversight of all Schedule Management by coordinating with all Superintendents throughout the duration of the project to ensure the project is completed in compliance with all contractual requirements.
• Review and oversee all materials, documentation, and quality of performance to ensure conformance of the plans and specifications.
• Contribute to the preparation and development of proposals and final bid documentation.
• Ensure that all contractors are using the appropriate and current revision to the plans in the field.

Skills & Qualification:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• 8+ years of construction experience in all facets of the project and in safety/preconstruction/staff development, project deliverables, and retention/customer interaction.
• 5+ years experience as a Project Executive managing large Heavy Civil, and/or commercial projects.
• Above average knowledge of construction practices and trades.
• Proficient in Procore, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook other tools used for communication purposes.
• Must have the ability to work independently, be self-directed, and able to take the initiative in seeking efficiencies of processes.
