Job summary

Nathan L. Jacobson & Associates, Inc. in Connecticut seeks a Civil/Structural Project Engineer to design bridges and walls, perform analyses and prepare drawings.

You will work 95% in office, 5% in field, with opportunities for advancement and a great working environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • EIT required; P.E. preferred.
  • 3 years minimum experience with AASHTO and CTDOT bridge design procedures and municipal/infrastructure projects.
  • AASHTO and CTDOT bridge design experience required.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written communication, organization and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to work under supervision or independently.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Willing to take a drug test (if required).

Job description

Our firm is seeking highly motivated technical personnel with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, to join our team of design professionals as a Civil/Structural Project Engineer. We are a licensed professional Civil and Environmental Engineering firm in the State of Connecticut whose primary business focus is directed towards providing quality technical services to municipal and institutional clients, as well as Federal and State Agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Civil/structural design of bridges and retaining walls
  • Structural analysis and design (steel, concrete, timber)
  • Structural computations (computerized and hand)
  • Detailed preparation of construction drawings and specifications
  • Hydraulic analysis and design
  • Presentations to land use commissions and clients
  • 95% office / 5% field
