Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Construction) to lead EHS at a major Cape Canaveral construction site. You will guide contractors, ensure crane, rigging and welding safety, and manage hazard assessments, PPE, and regulatory compliance across multiple shifts.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical construction safety, with experience in identifying hazards, training personnel, and issuing corrective actions to prevent incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in design, development, and oversight of EHS in construction.
• Experience with crane & rigging and heavy equipment environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day EHS site management for a fast-paced construction project.
• Audit and enforce construction EHS programs for contractors and subcontractors.
• Develop job hazard assessments and PPE requirements; implement safety policies.
• Provide technical oversight for crane, rigging, welding, and fabrication tasks.
• Investigate incidents and prepare root-cause reports with corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, RCRA, DOT and other regulations.
• Deliver safety training on cranes, rigging, lifting, and industrial safety.
