Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Dispatcher to assist coordinating labor, equipment, materials, trucking and rentals for assigned projects to ensure resources are allocated effectively.

Under supervision, you will work with the Construction Manager, Superintendents, Safety and Equipment to meet project schedule goals, track rentals, and use the FIS system to streamline processes and communication. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years dispatch experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills essential.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in computer programs (Excel, Word, Project, Heavy Job, The Dispatcher).
• Knowledge of construction projects, equipment and needs a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating project resource needs with the Construction Manager, Superintendents, Safety, and Equipment departments to ensure project schedule goals are met.
• Communicate detailed information such as time and specific locations to dispatch resources to jobs in the field to ensure appropriate resources are allocated.
• Arrange and work with the Equipment department and other area dispatchers to ensure equipment utilization and schedule repairs as needed.
• Utilize computerized dispatch and distribute on a daily basis to communicate resource and scheduling with team.
• Communicate dispatch to Superintendents so they can monitor daily work (QC, Shop, PM, Payroll).
• Work with vendors to obtain pricing for rentals or other materials and use FIS system to streamline the processes.
