Position Description:

We are seeking a Construction Cost Estimator to join our Construction Department to enhance infrastructure projects in Detroit, MI; Atlanta, GA; or Tampa, FL. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with at least ten years of relevant experience and familiarity with estimation software.

Responsibilities include:

1. Advancing our cost estimating processes and systems for developing Engineers Opinion of Construction Cost estimates (EOPCC) and constructability reviews.
2. Performing, guiding, and reviewing EOPCC estimates and constructability reviews for design purposes.
3. Training Design Engineers in developing EOPCC.
4. Building and leading a team to support EOPCC development and constructability reviews.
5. Seeking innovative systems, methods, and technologies to keep Wade Trim at the forefront of continuous improvement.
6. Developing and implementing plans to apply innovation in our practices and for client benefit.
7. Providing technical guidance within the practice area.
8. Participating in market segment activities to identify technical, training, and project management needs.
9. Ensuring quality assurance and quality control on specialty projects and initiatives.
10. Researching and updating practices with new technologies.
11. Mentoring and coaching staff in areas of expertise.
12. Providing technical input on projects and initiatives.
13. Assisting in skill inventory and cross-training within the practice area.
14. Recommending standards and protocols for project delivery.
15. Hosting seminars for staff and clients.
16. Reviewing technical papers and abstracts.

Sales/Business Development:

1. Utilizing networks to expand Wade Trim's client base.
2. Contributing technical input for sales activities.
3. Participating in industry associations and leadership roles.
4. Writing and presenting at conferences.

Corporate Responsibilities:

1. Providing technical input on training, equipment, and software needs.
2. Recommending current technical resources.
3. Maintaining a safe working environment.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.

Skills/Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs.
• Ability to estimate various municipal projects.
• Familiarity with estimation software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and perform constructability reviews.
• Ability to develop detailed estimates from concept drawings.
• Preferred: 30 Hr OSHA training, Trench and Safety training.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
