Job description

Position: Senior Estimator/CSRA Analyst
Location: Remote

Position Summary:
As a Senior Cost and Schedule Engineer, Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating large multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules including analyses of risk to construction costs and schedules. You will work with a dynamic team of engineers, cost estimators, schedulers, and risk analysts in MSI’s Project Controls & Cost Engineering Practice and beyond. You will be a productive leader on the team and will have the opportunity to mentor and support others in the development of their skills.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the timely and complete development of multi-discipline cost estimates, construction schedules, and construction cost and schedule risk analyses (CSRAs).
  • Prepare and deliver cost estimates and construction schedules, and CSRAs, while working with the project team.
  • Prepare basis of estimate reports and CSRA reports for the end user.
  • Provide innovative solutions for construction, estimating issues and problems.
  • Interface with designated management and client counterparts for specific estimating and risk analysis tasks.
  • Serve as a cost estimating and/or risk analysis point of contact for internal clients
  • Manage and provide guidance to junior and intermediate staff.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve procedures and tools for construction cost and schedule estimating, and risk analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or related field is required along with 15+ years of combined experience in an engineering, estimating, or risk analyst role is preferred.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of cost/estimating, engineering design, and construction practice and applicable standards and procedures.
  • Advanced understanding of different contract methods and how they apply to estimating.
  • Experience with one or more scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Experience with Sage Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Take-Off, MCASES MII, IPE, HCSS or other databased estimating platforms.
  • Experience with Oracle Crystal Ball for completing Monte Carlo simulations to support CSRA development. Optional experience with other risk analysis software, such as Lumivero @Risk or Deltek Acumen Risk.
  • Experience abiding by U.S. federal guidelines for completing cost and schedule estimates, and CSRAs.
  • Ability to travel for site reconnaissance and interfacing with clients and stakeholders (domestic travel may be periodically required).
  • Experience working with other discipline estimators to develop a comprehensive project estimate.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present cost and schedule estimating projects, and CSRAs.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgement, creativity, and innovation.
  • Ability to guide and mentor estimating team members in engineering and construction based estimating techniques and methodologies.
  • Positive attitude with strong relationship building skills.
