Job summary

Jobot, a rapidly growing commercial general contractor, seeks a permanent Cost Engineer to join our construction team in the Southwest. You will manage costs, prepare financial reports, and forecast cash flow to maximize profitability across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Cost Engineer in construction.
• Experience with cost management, financial audits, and budget forecasting.
• Strong numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Proficient in financial software and MS Office.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Strategic thinking and sound financial decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular financial audits to ensure costs stay within budget.
• Create and update detailed financial reports for all projects.
• Use cost knowledge to inform cost-saving decisions without compromising quality.
• Perform risk assessments to identify overruns and mitigation plans.
• Forecast future costs using analytics.
• Develop accurate cost estimates from proposal to completion.
• Maintain document control of financial documents.
• Collaborate with project managers to manage project budgets.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings while ensuring safety.
• Review and update cost plans and cash flow forecasts.
