Job summary

PC Construction Company in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Cost Engineer to join our Project Controls Department. You will support project teams in cost systems, budgeting, forecasting and change management while collaborating with accounting to deepen your financial understanding.

The right candidate has a bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of experience managing construction administrative activities, contracts, and cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of experience managing administrative activities on construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracting, budgeting, forecasting and change management.
• Interest/experience in accounts payable/receivable, payroll and financial forecasting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and train project teams in all cost systems.
• Oversee contracts and change management.
• Manage project budgets and cost performance.
• Provide monthly project forecasting (estimate to complete).
• Handle job billing, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Drive system improvements in cost management processes.
• Develop and deliver training on best practices and procedures.

Job Overview

Become our next employee owner and work with a great team in our Project Controls Department. This department supports all operations at PC Construction and provides an excellent environment to understand our company and the construction industry. The Cost Engineer position provides the perfect opportunity for an ambitious candidate to expand their understanding of, and expertise in, construction contracting, budgeting, forecasting and change management. In this role you will also collaborate with accounting and deepen your understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial forecasting.

• Support and train project teams in all job cost systems.
• Contracts and Change Management
• Project Budgets and Cost Management
• Monthly Project Forecasting (estimate to complete)
• Job Billing
• Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
• Systems Improvement - monitor and continuously improve cost management processes and procedures
• Develop and deliver training to support the company’s best practices and procedures

Qualifications

The right candidate will have a bachelor's degree, along with three to five years’ experience successfully managing administrative activities on a construction project and a strong interest/understanding of construction contracting, budgeting, forecasting and change management.

Compensation and Benefits

This position has a pay range of $75,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience, in addition to an extensive benefits package that includes company stock and a profit-sharing bonus.
