Job summary

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is seeking a Construction Coordinator to support our site-preparation phase for new commercial projects. You will bridge the gap between initial site investigation and active construction, coordinating testing, utilities, and required disconnections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in construction or utility industry, or experience in managing multiple projects while tracking progress and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and familiarity with civil blueprints is preferred
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-construction testing including Geotech, Environmental Site Assessments, and Asbestos testing for demolition.
  • Review site testing reports for accuracy and interpret reports to identify risks and next steps.
  • Manage asbestos abatement subcontractors, if asbestos abatement is required.
  • Oversee Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) mapping, utility locating, and "potholing" operations.
  • Coordinate directly with utility providers to secure utility products, installations, permits, and temporary and permanent utility services, including the disconnection of existing utility services as required.
  • Support superintendents throughout construction by troubleshooting site conditions, coordinating utility-related items, and resolving field issues as they arise.
  • Monitor pricing from engineers and site consultants, running monthly reporting to ensure costs remain within budget.

Pay Range: Pay will be commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings.

McCON's Support Center team manages commercial construction projects across the continental US. We are a family-owned company known for our experience in commercial construction, our service to our clients, and our performance, both in the field and administratively.

The Construction Coordinator role is to assist with the site-preparation phase of our new construction projects. In this role, you will bridge the gap between initial site investigation and active construction. You will be responsible for coordinating site testing, securing utilities and coordinating required disconnections, and remaining a recourse during construction to manage subsurface risks, utility conflicts, and structural demolitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate pre-construction testing including Geotech, Environmental Site Assessments, and Asbestos testing for demolition.
