Role Description The Construction Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Lockport, IL. This role oversees daily construction activities, coordinates crews and subcontractors, and ensures that construction and site engineering projects are executed according to plans, specifications, and safety standards. The Construction Coordinator monitors project schedules, assists with budgeting and cost tracking, and supports project control processes to keep work on time and within scope. The role includes conducting site walks, identifying and resolving field issues, communicating with project managers and clients, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. The Construction Coordinator also helps enforce construction safety protocols, supports quality control inspections, and contributes to continuous improvement of installation practices.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory skills, including the ability to coordinate field crews, assign tasks, and support performance on active construction sites.
• Experience with budgeting and basic cost control, including tracking labor, materials, and equipment to support project financial targets.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations, with the ability to promote a safe work environment and support compliance with company safety programs.
• Hands-on experience in construction, preferably in landscape construction or site work, with familiarity in reading plans and understanding construction methods.
• Background in project control, including schedule monitoring, progress tracking, and reporting on milestones and site status.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with project managers, field staff, subcontractors, and clients.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Relevant education or training in construction management, civil engineering, landscape construction, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience in a coordinator or foreperson role is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as needed.
