Job summary

360 Headhunter is seeking an experienced Construction Controller to oversee the financial operations of our growing subcontracting business in Portland, OR. The role focuses on financial reporting, job costing, project profitability, and cash flow management.

You will partner with project managers and operations leadership to ensure projects are financially controlled and profitable, with responsibilities spanning billing, costs tracking, and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, construction sector preferred.
• Experience working for a construction company is strongly preferred.
• CPA or CMA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, GL, and month-end close.
• Manage job-cost accounting by project, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, gross margins, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Oversee progress billing, retainage, collections, and accounts receivable.
• Review contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and invoicing requirements.
• Track change orders and their financial impact on projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to identify cost overruns and risks.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash-flow forecasts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
