Job summary

Jobot seeks an experienced Construction Controller to oversee accounting operations across construction projects, ensuring accurate job costing, revenue recognition, and WIP reporting while partnering with Project Management, Operations, and Executive Leadership to improve financial visibility and project profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, a deep understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting, and preferably hold an active CPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification strongly preferred for the role.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with construction industry focus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and construction standards.
• Oversee job costing and ensure accurate capture, coding, and reporting of costs.
• Prepare and analyze WIP schedules, including percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to analyze project financial performance and variances.
• Lead AIA billings, progress billings, retainage, receivables, and collections.
• Maintain internal controls over project accounting, billing, and cash management.
