Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controller in the construction industry with a solid background in WIP reporting to join our finance team. The role emphasizes leadership, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely financial closes and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with at least 3 years of leadership.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required.
• Experience with WIP reporting in construction is preferred, or willingness to learn.
• Strong Excel capabilities and comfort with ERP/accounting systems.
• CPA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the preparation of recurring financial reports and support tax filings and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including ledger maintenance, collections, and payments.
• Partner cross-functionally to track project-based financials and support close cycles with accurate cost/revenue recognition.
• Lead the close process end-to-end in line with accounting practices and governance.
• Act as point of contact for audit requests and documentation.
• Manage and mentor a small team with guidance and performance feedback.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule, with related reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting, identify trends, explain financial performance to stakeholders.
• Support ad hoc financial and operational initiatives as needed.
