Jobot is seeking a Controller in Paducah, KY for a permanent, on-site role in the construction industry. The candidate will oversee accounting, manage a small team, and ensure accurate project-based financials, payroll, and audits, with strong emphasis on WIP reporting and ERP proficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience with 3+ years leading a team.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
• WIP reporting experience in construction preferred or willingness to learn.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Exposure to mid-market accounting platforms is a plus.
• CPA certification is a plus; union experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring financial reports and support tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting including ledgers, collections tracking and payments.
• Coordinate cross-functionally to track project financials and revenue recognition.
• Lead the close process end-to-end with governance and best practices.
• Serve as point of contact for audit requests and documentation.
• Mentor and manage a small accounting team with feedback.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting, explain performance to stakeholders.
• Support ad hoc financial and operational initiatives as needed.
