Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Business Development Manager to cultivate relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms in the New York market. You will own the pipeline, coordinate with the pricing engineer, and drive proposals from first contact through to signed testing and inspection work.

This role emphasizes field relationships, forecasting, and disciplined pipeline management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
• Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the posting market.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.
• Comfortable discussing specifications and schedules with a superintendent and contract terms with an owner.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own relationships end to end.
• Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded.
• Qualify and pursue opportunities; run the pursuit pipeline from first contact to signed agreement.
• Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events.
• Report pipeline and results monthly.
