Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical in Suffolk, VA seeks a full-time Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget alignment.

The role involves coordinating with regional leaders, clients, A/E, vendors, and subcontractors; maintaining project docs, assisting with procurement, tracking costs, and supporting forecasting. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2–5 years of experience; travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in construction processes, design coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and project administration.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and CM software.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager with planning, organizing, and staffing key field positions.
• Support project objectives, policies, and performance standards.
• Maintain communications with clients, A/E, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress with on-site superintendent to meet schedule and budget.
• Contribute to procurement, cost tracking, and project forecasting.
• Maintain project documentation such as submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
