Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical in Pecos, Texas, is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager. The role involves supporting the Project Manager to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget, with regular communication among clients, A/E, vendors, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of construction experience, a related bachelor’s degree preferred, and strong organizational and communication skills. Travel is required; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of recent construction process experience including design coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and project administration.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in planning, organizing, and staffing key field positions.
• Support establishment and implementation of project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Maintain communication with clients, A/E, vendors, and subcontractors to facilitate progress.
• Monitor construction progress with on-site Superintendent to ensure schedule and budget.
• Identify potential project issues and participate in corrective action plans.
• Represent company in project meetings and support labor planning.
• Assist in tracking costs, reviewing invoices, and monitoring equipment rentals.
• Maintain project documentation: submittals, RFIs, change orders, minutes, progress reports.
• Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractors aligned with schedules.
• Promote and support safety policies and procedures on all projects.
