Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Utah to partner with the Project Manager from bid preparation through client acceptance. You will lead project teams, manage budgets, coordinate subcontractors, and help drive safe, timely completion.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a construction-related field and at least five years of experience, with strong communication, mentoring, and contract administration skills. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management.
• Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and schedule.
• Coordinate scopes of work.
• Review and compile pay applications, change requests, and other project financial documentation.
• Draft client proposals and contract administration.
• Lead subcontractor buyout and meetings.
• Provide direction to project team for safe and timely completion.
• Mentor project engineers and field staff.
