Job summary

The Ravin Group seeks an organized Construction Accounts Payable Specialist in Fort Wayne, IN to support project accounting and invoicing processes. You will verify invoices, code costs to projects, and help ensure timely payments and accurate job costing.

You will collaborate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors, handling month-end tasks and reconciliations. The role emphasizes accuracy, independence, and teamwork in a project-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of accounts payable or related experience.
• Construction accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with construction job costing or project accounting is a plus.
• Strong Excel and Word skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to learn new financial systems quickly.
• Professional written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and with a project team.

Responsibilities

• Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and project allocation.
• Enter and process invoices through the accounting system.
• Respond to vendor questions regarding invoices, payments, and account information.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting analyses as needed.
• Process job cost corrections and adjustments to maintain accurate project records.
• Assist with monthly customer billing and related documentation.
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Work with project managers, project accountants, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve accounting issues.
• Research discrepancies and follow through to resolution.
• Support other accounting and administrative functions as assigned.
