Job summary

CWS Construction group, inc, based in Novato, California, is hiring for an Accounts Payable, Payroll & Assistant Project Accountant to support its fast-track construction projects. The role covers accounts payable, payroll processing, and project accounting tasks, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration across Accounting, Finance and Operations.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in A/P and payroll, strong Excel skills, and construction accounting experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years A/P experience required.
• 2+ years payroll experience required.
• Strong Excel skills required.
• Construction/project accounting experience preferred.
• Understanding of debits/credits and GL reconciliations.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, ADP or Paychex.

Responsibilities

• Process, review, code and verify accounts payable transactions with proper documentation.
• Manage payroll from start to finish and ensure on-time payments.
• Assist project accounting and tracking of job costs and progress billings.
• Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and coding.
• Support month-end close and accounting record maintenance.
• Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation.
