Killian Construction Co. is seeking an Accountant to support our growing accounting team. You will manage accounts payable, assist with general accounting, and maintain accurate financial records for construction projects.

You will collaborate with the Controller, Project Managers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely payments and proper documentation. We prefer candidates with construction accounting experience, especially job costing, subcontractor payments, and purchase orders.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of accounting or accounts payable experience preferred.
• Construction industry accounting experience preferred, especially job costing and subcontractor payments.
• Working knowledge of general ledger and accounts payable processes.
• Experience with accounting software; construction-specific software is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and receiving docs.
• Verify invoice coding including GL accounts, job numbers, cost codes, and cost types.
• Obtain approvals and resolve invoice discrepancies with PMs, vendors, and internal teams.
• Prepare vendor payments per terms and company procedures.
• Prepare and process batch checks, wire transfers, and ACH.
• Maintain vendor records including W-9s and documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies.
• Monitor AP aging and assist with cash flow planning.
• Handle vendor correspondence by phone and email.
• Maintain organized AP records.
