Job summary

Killian Construction Co. is seeking an Accountant to support our growing accounting team in Southwest Missouri.

You will manage accounts payable, assist with general accounting functions, and ensure accurate financial records for construction projects, including job costing and subcontractor payments. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in accounting or AP, with construction industry experience preferred, and proficiency in Excel and construction accounting software.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of accounting or accounts payable experience preferred.
• Construction industry accounting experience preferred, particularly with job costing, subcontractor payments, and purchase orders.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and accounts payable processes.
• Experience with accounting software; construction accounting software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Management: process invoices, match to POs, obtain approvals, maintain records, reconcile aging, and handle vendor communications.
• General Accounting & Financial Reporting: assist with GL maintenance, month-end/year-end closing, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Construction Accounting & Job Costing: maintain job cost records, track project costs, and ensure proper coding and documentation.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement: work with Controller, PMs, vendors; improve workflows and controls.
