Job summary

Atrium Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established construction services client in Orlando, FL, for an Assistant Controller who will partner with the Controller to oversee accounting operations, close processes, GAAP reporting, and acquisition growth.

The role demands 5–10+ years of progressive accounting and prior management experience in a construction setting, with responsibilities spanning audits, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and project profitability analysis.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous experience in a management position required.
• Construction accounting experience required.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Maintain month-end close calendar with deadlines.
• Prepare and review monthly GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Analyze results and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and KPIs.
• Support construction accounting functions (AIA Billing, lien waivers, %‑of‑completion).
• Coordinate annual external audits and manage PBC requests.
• Maintain GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Support tax compliance and external reporting.
