Job summary

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking a Conservation Operations Supervisor 2 to oversee campground operations and lead a team in maintenance, planning, and construction activities across regional facilities.

You will develop maintenance plans, review financial reporting, procure supplies, administer contracts, and supervise small crews while ensuring accessibility and sustainability standards are met in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in building maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or construction, with one year in estimating, supervising, and planning and assigning work.
• Two years of experience in building maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or construction, with one year in estimating, supervising, and planning and assigning work, and an associate's or higher degree in civil engineering technology, construction technology, construction engineering technology, electrical technology, electrical engineering technology, engineering technology, industrial technology, industrial engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, or mechanical technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee campground operations and coordinate day-to-day maintenance and construction activities.
• Develop maintenance and work planning activities; review schedules and progress; coordinate with central office directives.
• Procure supplies, obtain quotes, prepare requisitions, and administer contracts; submit schedules and reports accurately and on time.
• Supervise one or more small crews performing diverse tasks including infrastructure and facilities work.

Education

Associate's or higher degree in civil engineering technology / construction technology / civil/engineering tech
