Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection seeks an Environmental Protection Operations Supervisor to oversee field operations in the State Park Division across the Western half of the state. The role requires coordinating with engineering, law enforcement, project managers, and natural resource staff to ensure safe, efficient park operations.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of experience in operation, development, and maintenance of natural resources programs and facilities.
• College training in civil engineering or natural resources management may substitute for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
• A Master’s degree may be substituted for one additional year of the General Experience.
• Experience in staff training programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews the work of staff.
• Provides staff training and assistance.
• Conducts performance evaluations.
• Determines priorities and plans area work.
• Establishes and maintains area procedures.
• Develops or makes recommendations on the development of policies and standards.
• Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding policies and procedures.
