Job summary

The New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation is seeking a Park Supervisor 2 for Glimmerglass State Park. Under supervision of the Park Manager 1, SG-18, you will oversee daily park operations, manage maintenance projects, and ensure visitor safety.

You will supervise permanent and seasonal staff, coordinate budgets, schedules, and staff training, and collaborate on capital projects. A valid driver's license is required, and eligibility under NY HELPS/55-b/55-c may apply.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in the construction, operation, or maintenance of a park or similar facility with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Or an associate degree or 60 college credits and two years of the above experience, with one year supervisory.
• Experience meeting the defined park facility criteria (fields, trails, marinas, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct daily park operations and long-term maintenance projects.
• Supervise permanent and seasonal staff across trades, maintenance, and recreation roles.
• Oversee work schedules, staff training, and performance evaluations.
• Administer budgets, inventory, payroll, and revenue operations.
• Ensure public safety and handle emergency response.
• Coordinate with managers for capital projects.
