Job summary

AYW Headquarters in Austin, TX seeks a Field Training and Development Supervisor to oversee AmeriCorps crews, provide training, and coordinate field operations for conservation and disaster response services. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years related work experience; OR 30 credits towards a bachelor’s degree with 3 years related work experience.
• Minimum 1–3 years in conservation/restoration programs and prior team leadership experience.
• Familiarity with AmeriCorps or public service.
• Experience with reporting metrics, contracts, audits, compliance, and coordinating crew members.
• Experience working with diverse youth, including 18–28-year-olds, in varied cultural contexts.

Responsibilities

• Spend 60% of time in the Field and 40% in office.
• Manage projects per partner expectations and AYW standards.
• Coordinate project logistics and communicate with project partners.
• Train and supervise AmeriCorps members; lead orientations for Crew Leaders/Crews.
• Conduct ongoing training in conservation, disaster response, risk management and safety on site.
• Lead safety on volunteer projects in coordination with partners.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
