Job summary

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a Guest-focused Conference Service Manager to coordinate group bookings and on-site needs on the famed Michigan Avenue property. This role acts as the liaison between clients and hotel operations, overseeing rooms, catering, AV, and transportation while upholding contract terms and delivering exemplary service to luxury clientele.

• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in a luxury hotel.
• Excellent written skills including report writing and oral presentation.
• Degree in Hospitality Management preferred.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of food and beverage.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with sales managers handling group businesses and involved staff.
• Act as liaison between client and hotel for rooms, catering, events, AV, transportation.
• Hold excellent knowledge of facilities and meeting room capacities.
• Maintain policies in the group sales contract (deposits, cut-offs, attrition, billing).
• Develop creative menu presentations for potential clients.
• Coordinate with banquet captains and conference concierge for on-site presence.
• Conduct tours of the property with meeting planners and potential clients.

Working with a talented team of Food & Beverage professionals, The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a guest-focused Conference Service Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

• Communicate with the sales managers responsible for booking various group businesses, as well as all other department staff members who will be involved in carrying out the needs of group/guests.
• Act as the liaison between the client and the hotel for all of the client needs, (i.e. hotel rooms, catering and events, audio visual, transportation, off-site event recommendations)
• Have excellent knowledge of hotel facilities and capacities/dimensions of meeting rooms
• Maintain the policies set forth in the roup sales contract (i.e., deposits, cut-off dates, attrition, rooming list, billing instructions)
• Develop creative menu presentations for potential clients
• Attend and participate in the weekly resume meeting
• Conduct tours of the property with meeting planners and potential clients
• Coordinate with banquet captains and conference concierge to ensure a continuous presence for on-site clients

General Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience ia luxury hotel
• Excellent written skills including report writing, above average skills in oral presentation
• Degree in Hospitality Management preferred

To be considered for the position, you must have work authorization in the United States. The salary range for this roke is $65,000-70,000 per year.
