Compass Group USA is hiring a Conference Services Attendant for a full-time role at Capital One Center in McLean, VA. The position requires prior customer service and event setup experience, with physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Primary duties include setting up meeting spaces, maintaining room readiness, and coordinating with clients and staff to ensure seamless events. Hours are posted as full-time with a schedule that includes evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or houseman/porter experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Move and arrange tables, chairs, and linens for each event in the conference center.
• Set up items not in the room (flipcharts, whiteboard, screens, etc.).
• Ensure conference room readiness with required materials (pens, pads, handouts, event packages).
• Provide prompt and detailed service as scheduled or upon request.
• Maintain phone and email communication with clients, guests, and staff.
• Assist clients and visitors, including directions and escorting to rooms.
• Coordinate with coworkers and partners to share updated information.
• Suggest room setups and assist planning managers with solutions for unique challenges.
• Conduct weekly site inspections of meeting rooms and notify departments for service.
