Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring for a Conference Services Attendant at our Washington, DC location. This full-time role supports meeting spaces with setup, service, and client coordination.

You will move and arrange tables and chairs, prepare room materials, assist with AV basics, and ensure impeccable room readiness. Monday–Friday schedule; pay range $19–$22 per hour; benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or houseman/porter experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Moves and places tables, chairs, and supply linens for each event in the conference center.
• Supplies and sets up items not included in the room (flipcharts, whiteboard, screens, etc.).
• Assists with conference room readiness to ensure rooms are equipped with proper materials.
• Provides prompt and detailed service as scheduled by management or by request.
• Maintains phone and email communication with clients, guests, and staff.
• Assists clients and visitors throughout the building and escorts to conference rooms.
• Communicates with coworkers and partners to share updated information.
• Offers room setup recommendations and helps solve setup challenges.
• Performs weekly site inspections and coordinates needed maintenance.
• Assists with basic audio visual equipment as needed.
• Maintains inventory and notifies when supplies are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
