Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Conductor Trainee for the Denver, CO area. This entry-level role trains you to manage train operations, ensure safety protocols, and support efficient freight movement through a structured program with on-the-job and classroom training.

The position requires full-time hours, on-call availability, and frequent travel within the designated region. Training can include travel to training centers and a multi-week orientation before assuming lead responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Able to climb ladders and work at various heights.
• Ability to work in diverse and extreme weather conditions.
• Must meet travel and shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Communication: obtain, receive, and act on information via various devices; monitor and report daily work; interpret signals for train movement.
• Switching: operate track switches and derails to route trains and verify alignment.
• Train & equipment inspections: inspect cars per regulations and report conditions.
• Daily work conducted in a safety-sensitive environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and heavy machinery.
