Be part of a safety-driven team at BNSF Railway. Conductor Trainees support efficient, safe railroad operations with on-the-job and classroom training, including travel to the training center in Overland Park, KS. Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English.
• Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and get on/off equipment.

Responsibilities

• Communication responsibilities: obtain, receive and act on information and monitor daily work.
• Switching functions: operate track switches and derails and check alignment.
• Train and equipment inspections: inspect cars per federal regulations and report conditions.
• Daily work occurs in a safety-sensitive environment with extreme weather and hazardous conditions.
