Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Northfield, IL is seeking a full-time Equipment and Machine Operator to operate plant machinery, follow safety policies, and help produce high-quality concrete products for customers across North America.

Responsibilities include operating equipment efficiently, inspecting product quality, maintaining production records, reporting malfunctions, performing set-up and clean-up, and keeping the work area clean and safe. Must lift up to 75 pounds and wear PPE as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance if needed, at heights from floor level to 4 feet.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (ear plugs, hard hat, steel toe shoes, safety glasses).

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment efficiently to produce concrete products from raw materials to yard stage.
• Inspect the quality of products according to standards.
• Assist in maintaining accurate production records.
• Monitor the operations of machinery and report malfunctions.
• Perform machine clean-up, set-up, and other functions related to job changes.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area and adhere to safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead Operators.
