Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a plant operator to run and adjust machinery, ensuring product quality and safety compliance at the Jacksonville, FL facility. You will read specs, set up equipment, monitor operations, and assist with maintenance while supporting production schedules.

The role requires basic math, reading safety documentation, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs with a flexible schedule. Experience in concrete manufacturing is preferred, strong safety mindset a must.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1 month related experience.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Basic math skills including simple calculations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and other necessary tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained in the assigned area.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
