Job summary

UES, a national leader in geotechnical engineering and materials testing, seeks a Concrete Laboratory Technician. You will perform testing, documentation, and QA/QC for concrete and related materials, coordinating with field teams and project managers to ensure accuracy and safety.

This role emphasizes hands-on lab work, adherence to standards (ASTM/ACI), and the ability to lift and move samples while maintaining organized records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical coursework preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in construction materials testing or geotechnical lab work.
• Commitment to safety and PPE protocols; OSHA guidelines followed.
• Basic computer skills; proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook; FDC software preferred.
• Ability to read procedures, manuals, and technical reports related to testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing of concrete and related materials per ASTM/ACI/project requirements.
• Receive, identify, prepare, cure, and test concrete specimens.
• Conduct compressive strength testing and other routine tests.
• Document results accurately and maintain lab records.
• Identify unusual results and communicate findings to team.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment.
• Keep a safe, organized lab environment and follow QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate with field technicians and project teams for samples/testing needs.
• Assist with additional construction materials testing as needed.
