Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Laboratory Technician I to support geotechnical and construction materials testing in our Fort Worth, TX lab.

You will perform routine testing on concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specs while maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of following testing procedures, recording results, and keeping the laboratory organized for efficient project

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or technical coursework in a related field preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in construction materials testing or geotechnical lab work preferred but not required.
• Commitment to workplace safety and PPE protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lab testing on construction materials (soil, concrete, asphalt) following ASTM/AASHTO standards.
• Document and report test results with accurate, organized records.
• Assist with sample preparation, handling, and storage to ensure sample integrity.
• Operate laboratory testing equipment according to procedures and safety rules.
• Follow strict lab safety protocols and use of PPE.
• Communicate test results and sample status to supervisors and field personnel.
• Maintain an organized laboratory environment and proper data documentation.
• Support lab team, field technicians, and project managers as needed.
