Job description

Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated skilled workers to join our team as a Carpenter/Form Setter in Carrollton, TX at our Water Utility Project.

Duties:

1. Experience setting forms, tying rebar, pouring and finishing concrete, using string line for line and level, able to read rebar and form drawings.
2. Load/Unload materials.
3. Mark cutting lines on materials, using pencil and scriber.
4. Build job-specific wood forms.
5. Assemble and fasten material together to construct wood or metal framework of structure, using bolts, nails, or screws-Set and tie steel, as required.
6. Erect and wreck all forms. Pour, grade and finish concrete.
7. Check and maintain grade stakes and other survey markings.
8. Maintain equipment and tools.
9. Enter confined spaces, as required.
10. Measure materials or distances, using square, measuring tape, or rule to lay out work-Operate a man-lift.
11. Provide flagging and direction to Crane Operators.
12. Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood to required size, using handsaw, power saw, or woodworking machine.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to sit stand for extended periods of time while operating equipment or using tools.
2. Employee will bend, lift, climb, kneel, or squat while moving or lifting heavy materials, forms or equipment.
3. Employee will be exposed to extreme temperatures and conditions such as dirt, dust, fumes and noises while working on construction sites.
4. Employee may be exposed to mechanical, chemical, electrical or fire hazards while performing welding or carpentry duties.

Requirements:

1. 5+ years related experience.
2. Must work in all weather conditions. Both extreme heat and cold.
3. Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing duties outlined above.
4. Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50-90 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.

Desired qualifications:

1. 5+ Years related experience
2. OSHA safety training and a current First Aid and CPR certificate
