Job summary

Optum On-Site Solutions, a member of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Miami, FL. As the first point of contact, you will provide a concierge level of service, helping ensure patient well-being and a positive, supportive environment for patients and staff.

You will welcome patients, manage check-ins/outs, schedule appointments, handle calls and emails, and assist with clinical intake, vital signs and specimen collection under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• Completion of medical assistant training program or 1+ years of medical assistant or phlebotomist experience in an urgent care, primary care, or emergency room setting
• Meet all other state requirements by law, including but not limited to all state requirements, and licenses, where applicable
• Active CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• The role requires maintaining current certification from the relevant certifying bodies as applicable by state

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patient to the worksite clinic and orients them to the services available
• Manages the patient check-in and check-out process
• Schedule / reschedule onsite clinic appointments
• Manages clinic calls, emails, and walk-ins
• Order clinic supplies
• Manage clinic flow to ensure patients are seen timely
• Assist in execution of group events and health activities at site
• Navigate patients to employer benefit programs
• Complete provider orders per state and provider regulations
• Perform clinical intake with patients including vital signs and history
• Assist patients with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation
• Prioritize and multi-task to optimize patient flow and experience
• Complete patient referrals and callbacks daily
• Document assessments and procedures in EMR and paper records
• Other duties as assigned
