Job summary

The Dewberry Charleston seeks a courteous Concierge to deliver exceptional guest service in downtown Charleston. You will greet guests by name, offer informed recommendations, and coordinate restaurant, tours, and transportation arrangements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of hotel/hospitality operations experience.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle difficult customers and recover with guests.
• Strong data entry and computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Team player with the ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner using the guest’s name.
• Provide detailed advice and recommendations about the hotel and Charleston area.
• Stay current on local events and happenings in Charleston.
• Promote hotel outlets including restaurant, bars, Dewberry Spa, and Dewberry House Cars.
• Make restaurant and tour reservations on request.
• Anticipate guest requirements and respond promptly.
• Coordinate arrangements for guests’ special requests.
• Respond to guest requests within 24 hours and follow up for satisfaction.
• Communicate with guests in person, by phone, and by email professionally.
• Monitor requests through ALICE and ensure completion.
• Collaborate with Guest Services to arrange Dewberry transportation services.
• Build positive working relationships to reach goals.
• Oversee the Dewberry Bikes Program.
