Job summary

The Dewberry in Charleston, SC seeks a Concierge to provide warm, personalized guest service and expert guidance on local attractions and dining. You will be the face of the hotel, using guests’ names, coordinating reservations, and coordinating special requests with the team.

We value hospitality know-how, strong communication, and a willingness to exceed expectations in a fast-paced environment. Weekend availability and a collaborative approach are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of hotel/hospitality operations experience.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle difficult customers and guest recovery skills.
• Excellent data entry and computer skills, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner, always using the guest’s name.
• Provide detailed advice and recommendations to guests regarding the hotel and Charleston area.
• Stay current on local events, attractions, and happenings in Charleston.
• Promote hotel outlets, including the restaurant, bars, Dewberry Spa, and Dewberry House Cars.
• Make restaurant and tour reservations upon request.
• Anticipate guest requirements and requests to satisfy them efficiently and promptly.
• Coordinate arrangements for guests’ special requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
• Respond to guest requests in under 24 hours and communicate professionally via in-person, phone, or email.
• Monitor guest requests through the ALICE work order system and ensure completion.
• Work with Guest Services to arrange and schedule transportation services.
• Maintain positive working relationships to reach common goals.
• Oversee the Dewberry Bikes Program.
