Job summary

The Dewberry Charleston is seeking a Server to join the Food & Beverage team in downtown Charleston, SC. You will provide courteous, professional service to guests, explain menu items, and support the culinary team to ensure a memorable dining experience.

Qualified candidates have at least one year of fine dining experience, a focus on hospitality, and reliability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant.
• Food Safety Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal food safety standards.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Punctual and reliable with a positive attitude.
• Availability mornings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive service to guests, seat patrons promptly, and attend to needs with a friendly manner.
• Record orders accurately, relay special instructions to kitchen, and use the POS system.
• Serve food and drinks in accordance with upscale service standards.
• Keep dining areas clean, reset tables, and assist with bussing as needed.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate to management when necessary.
• Participate in pre-service meetings and maintain knowledge of menu items.
