Position Summary

The Concessions Manager is responsible for managing venue concessions operations, including inventory control, product ordering, employee training, cash handling, compliance with alcohol service policies, cleaning, safety, guest service, supervision, warehouse oversight, troubleshooting, event support, food preparation, and other tasks assigned by the Direct Manager. The role requires providing high-level event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational support to ensure smooth concessions operations.

The Concessions Manager will supervise, coach, counsel, train, and mentor staff, and may initiate employment actions such as hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion, and transfer. The manager will handle employee performance issues, maintain a positive work environment, and ensure compliance with attendance, scheduling, and operational standards. Flexibility, professional presentation, interpersonal skills, self-direction, and technical aptitude are essential. The role offers an annual salary of $49,000-$54,000.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and mentor concessions staff, including handling disciplinary actions.
2. Document employee performance and attendance issues.
3. Oversee setup of concessions locations, inventory, sanitation, and operational readiness.
4. Ensure efficient, profitable event execution.
5. Oversee inventory, ordering, and high-volume sales.
6. Manage all concessions operations before, during, and after events, including scheduling, equipment checks, POS troubleshooting, guest complaints, training, and cleanup.
7. Train staff on procedures and best practices.
8. Cover open positions as needed to maintain standards.
9. Supervise concessions supervisors, stand managers, cooks, and cashiers.
10. Ensure compliance with all policies, including alcohol and food safety regulations.
11. Conduct post-event evaluations, compile data, and generate reports.
12. Maintain a safe, harassment-free work environment and address safety concerns promptly.
13. Train and mentor staff and volunteers, promoting a positive work culture.
14. Obtain knowledge of all concession locations and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field; or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in computer applications, POS systems, and inventory management.
• Experience training staff and volunteers.
• Strong knowledge of inventory, sanitation, and alcohol service policies.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Certification in food sanitation and alcohol service preferred.
