Job summary

City of Evanston is seeking a concession attendant for its Parks & Recreation venues. The role involves preparing and serving concession items, handling cash and card transactions, and ensuring safe, clean facilities for guests.

Ideal candidates are 15+ years old, possess or obtain Illinois Food Handler’s Certification, and can complete CPR & First Aid training within three months. Must be flexible to work mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years of age or older with a valid work permit.
• Illinois Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Must obtain CPR & First Aid Certification within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and friendly customer service in a fast-paced concession setting.
• Safely operate food and beverage equipment per guidelines.
• Prepare, cook, and serve concession foods per health standards.
• Process cash and credit card orders accurately.
• Maintain clean, organized serving area and restock as needed.
• Monitor shift inventory and resupply as required.
• Follow shift procedures including setup, teardown, and equipment checks.
