The City of Evanston seeks a concessions location supervisor to oversee safe and efficient food service at multiple stands including Robert Crown and Clark Street Beach. Responsibilities include food prep, service, cash handling, and staff supervision.
Minimum requirements include age 15+, Illinois Food Handler’s Certification (or 30-day window), CPR/First Aid within 3 months, and flexible scheduling across locations and shifts.

Work includes food preparation and service, customer relations, processing cash and/or credit card transactions. Supervisory responsibilities include inventory control, ordering, staff supervision, scheduling and overseeing maintenance and cleaning schedules.
Pay Grade/Range: Seasonal: $22/hour

Supervision Work is performed under the general direction of the Food Service Program Coordinator and the Department of Parks and Recreation. Assignments can be either verbal or written, with the employee determining proper procedure and work methods and is responsible for completing the work according to City work rule and safety regulations. Work is reviewed through ongoing observation, written and verbal communication, meetings and feedback from supervisors and other department employees. Guidance is provided through rules and regulations, policies and procedures, Personnel Rules and OSHA. Work is evaluated at least once per year for the safe and skilled operation of equipment, quality of tasks, adherence to work rules, and performance in accordance with classification standards. Department Coordinators are responsible for site inspections, ongoing observations, and written and verbal communication.
Public Contact The employee has contact with the general public using parks and recreation facilities. The employee may need to respond to questions and complaints and provide general direction to the public.
