Job summary

The City of Evanston is seeking a Seasonal Park Attendant to support park operations across parks, beaches, and events. Responsibilities include light maintenance, rule enforcement, program support, and incident documentation.

Working days include weekends and holidays, with assignments from mid-April to mid-November. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; CPR/AED and First Aid certification must be obtained within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial work, maintenance tasks, and repair work in picnic areas, public restrooms, athletic fields and grounds.
• Hang permits at designated picnic locations.
• Visit parks, beaches and special events throughout the City; inform public of rules, regulations and programs; check for and addresses safety, security, and maintenance issues.
• Check for locked doors, proper lighting and related building security at parks, recreation centers and shelters.
• Check safety conditions of park facilities and submits work orders for areas that need repairs.
• Distribute information to park patrons on programs and/or activities.
• Assist police and fire departments on calls in a crowd control capacity.
• Operate vehicle to deliver equipment and travel between different sites. Trailer equipment between different sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
