Caelum Research Corporation is looking for a Computer Technician III to maintain and troubleshoot complex computer systems and networks. You will deliver top-tier technical support to keep operations running across our IT infrastructure and support mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle hardware, software, and network components, provide excellent customer service, and collaborate with a team to resolve deskside incidents.

Qualifications

• HS/GED with 7+ years IT experience.
• Associates degree with 5+ years experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience.
• Masters degree with 1+ year experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, repair, and maintain software, hardware, configurations, and peripherals.
• Isolate equipment/system malfunctions and restore to good working order.
• Conduct operational checks and replace defective parts.
• Provide Tier I and Tier II deskside incident resolution for workstations, printers, and peripherals.
• Add or remove printers to/from printer server.
• Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems using diverse tools.
• Under supervision, assist with network hardware, servers, and software installation and support.

Position Description

• Required technical knowledge of installing, configuring, repairing, and maintaining software, hardware, configurations, and peripherals; isolating equipment/system/software malfunctions and restoring failed equipment to good working order; conducting operational checks and replacing defective parts and assemblies
• Required basic knowledge of networking concepts such as cable making/repair, IP address schema, and LAN implementation and configuration
• Some experience in with video teleconferencing systems
• Performing Tier I and Tier 2 deskside incident resolution of workstations, printers and peripheral devices
• Add new printers/remove unused printers to/from printer server.
• Monitoring and responding to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware including printers and software testing tools and techniques
• Under direct supervision, assisting with network hardware, servers and software installation, troubleshooting and support

Qualifications

• Security Clearance (Required): Secret
• Certifications (Required): Computing Environment, Security+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8140.01 IAT II) or A+/Network+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8140.01 IAT I)

Education and Experience

• HS/GED + 7 years' experience
• Associates + 5 years' experience
• Bachelor's + 3 years' experience
• Masters + 1 year experience
• Relevant education must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g., Network Engineering, Network Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc.)
