Job summary

Rossville Consolidated School District is seeking a computer technician to support the district's technology program under the Director of Technology.

You will configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computers, iPads, printers, classroom AV equipment, telephones, and related devices; install software, upgrades, and patches; assist with network connectivity and cybersecurity practices; maintain inventory and repair records; and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and A+ certification.
• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Experience with computers and software proficiency.
• Able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

The computer technician works under the direction of the Director of Technology to support the district's technology program. Primary duties include configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computers, iPads, printers, classroom audiovisual equipment, telephones, and related devices; installing software, upgrades, and patches; assisting with network equipment and connectivity; supporting staff and students with technology use and cybersecurity practices; maintaining inventory and repair records; and performing other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must:

• Hold a high school diploma or GED, have extensive computer knowledge, and hold A+ certification.
• Have hands-on hardware troubleshooting and repair experience and proficiency with computers and software.
• Communicate effectively, work cooperatively, prioritize tasks, and provide helpful technical support.
• Be able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.

Experience in an educational setting or with wireless networks is desirable.
