Job Description

This position is open to current UF employees only. UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking an intermediate-level Computer Operator II to join the Infrastructure and Communication Technology - Single Operations Center, a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT offers an opportunity to work with dedicated professionals focused on the technological needs of the University of Florida’s community.

As part of ICT, you will join the Single Operations Center team, which supports UF’s systems and services 24/7/365. The role involves monitoring systems, responding to inquiries, incidents, and alerts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitoring system status and contacting technical staff for escalation.
2. Monitoring critical batch processes and responding to abnormal conditions.
3. Supporting the Florida LambdaRail Network Operating Center, UF Data Centers, and Infrastructure Buildings.
4. Assisting with UF Computing Help Desk tasks and documentation.
5. Recommending procedural improvements and mentoring new staff.
