Job summary

Option Care Health, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician I to work under a licensed Pharmacist, performing compounding in a clean room environment at least 50% of the time to ensure safe, accurate operations.

Responsibilities include assisting with medication preparation and dispensing, labeling, basic calculations, maintaining equipment and supplies, and documenting incidents. Candidates need a High School diploma and at least 1 year of pharmacy tech experience, plus state licensure if required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic level skills in MS Word (document handling).
• Basic level skills in MS Excel (currency formatting, data handling).
• Basic MS PowerPoint skills (slide editing).

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures, and in accordance with state regulations & standards.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication related incidents.
• Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspects equipment and documents any equipment failures or defects.
• Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.
