Job summary

Option Care Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician I to work under a licensed pharmacist, performing compounding in a clean room for at least half of the time to ensure safe, accurate operations.

The role involves assisting with preparation, dispensing, labeling, and basic calculations, while contributing to incident reporting and adherence to state regulations. A 1-year tech experience and licensing as required by the state are preferred, with customer service excellence emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures, and in accordance with state regulations & standards.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct dosages of medications.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication related incidents.
